Description

The North Pikounda REDD+ Project is a conservation and sustainable forestry initiative covering 92,530 hectares of native Congolese forest.

By canceling planned logging, the project protects 55,950 ha of forest, preserving biodiversity and conserving a vital part of the Congolese forest – known as the lungs of Africa.

By protecting the forest area, the project not only preserves the natural ecosystem of the region but also prevents the release of carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
