Description
Exomad Green is one of the world’s leading producers of biochar carbon removal credits. Based in Bolivia, the project transforms hardwood residues from ABT-certified sawmills—biomass that would otherwise be incinerated—into high-carbon-content biochar through a pyrolysis process at ~600°C. This process permanently stores carbon in soil for centuries while supporting climate resilience and local development.
The project operates in Riberalta and Concepción, following Puro.earth’s Biochar Methodology and producing certified Carbon Removal Certificates (CORCs). Independent lab tests show an 86.3% organic carbon content and an H:C molar ratio of 0.24, placing Exomad’s biochar among the highest quality globally.
